BASF Aroma Ingredients innovates with two new Isobionics® biotech flavor ingredients

Geleen, Netherlands – Isobionics®, a biotechnology brand of BASF Aroma Ingredients, is launching two new natural ingredients on the flavor market. Isobionics® Natural beta-Sinensal 20 and Isobionics® Natural alpha-Humulene 90 are produced using an innovative cutting-edge fermentation process, making them a novelty in the flavor industry. Both new products will be presented for the first time at the FlavourTalk Raw Materials Exhibition 2025, which will take place on March 26-27 at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel Conference Centre in London, United Kingdom.

BASF Coatings increases production capacities in Caojing, China to meet growing Automotive demand in Asia Pacific

Shanghai, China - March 24, 2025 - BASF’s Coatings division has successfully expanded its production capacity for polyester and polyurethane resin at its Caojing plant in Shanghai, China. Originally established in 2015 with an annual capacity of 8,000 metric tons of polyester and polyurethane resin, the plant has now increased its capacity to 18,800 metric tons per year — a more than twofold increase.

New insulation board containing recycled material used in pilot project by ABG, BASF and Sto

Ludwigshafen, Frankfurt am Main and Stühlingen, Germany - In a recently completed pilot project, BASF, together with the housing society ABG FRANKFURT HOLDING and the manufacturer of external thermal insulation composite systems Sto, successfully used an insulation board based on expandable polystyrene (EPS) containing recycled material.
The individual electrolyzer modules are linked to each other and to the H2 network at the site in three so-called arrays.

BASF commissions 54-megawatt water electrolyzer

Germany’s largest proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer has gone into operation at BASF’s Ludwigshafen site. Designed to produce zero-carbon hydrogen, the electrolyzer has a connected load of 54 megawatts and the capacity to supply the main plant with up to one metric ton of this substantial chemical feedstock every hour. After a construction period of around two years, the plant was officially inaugurated today in the presence of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Minister for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, and Mobility Katrin Eder, and Udo Philipp, State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
